Mr. Speaker, I am on my feet before government notices of motion are called because I wish leave to move, seconded by the hon. member for Winnipeg North Centre (Mr. Knowles), the adjournment of the house under standing order 31 for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent public importance, namely the alarming unemployment situation in Canada, as indicated by figures released yesterday, and the need for immediate action by the government to provide jobs.
