Hon. Douglas Abbott (Minister of Finance) moved

that the house go into committee at the next sitting to consider the following resolution:
That it is expedient to introduce a measure to revise the Civil Service Superannuation Act and to provide, amongst other things, for payment out of the consolidated revenue fund, as a matter of right, of annuities and other benefits to persons and to widows and children of persons who, having

paid contributions into the consolidated revenue fund while employed in the public service of Canada, cease to be so employed, and to continue payment out of the consolidated revenue fund, as a matter of right, of allowances granted under the Civil Service Superannuation Act.
He said: His Excellency the Governor
General, having been made acquainted with the subject matter of this resolution, recommends it to the consideration of the house.
