1. Yes. There have been some variations, as permitted by the terms of the trans-Canada highway agreement.
2. (a) No mileage has been accepted as fully completed. The equivalent mileage of grading completed amounts to 122-0 miles.
(b) Although gaps exist between the sections of the route mentioned below, the trans-Canada highway is passable by motor car over 462 of the 610 miles to be constructed in Newfoundland between:
St. John's and Clarenville, 135 miles.
Gander and St. Georges, 292 miles.
South Branch and Port aux Basques, 35 miles.
