The MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND CANALS (Hon. A. G. Blair).

The gentleman named by the hon. member has not been in the employ of the department within the past two years. I think that answer will cover the other branches of the question.
MAIL CARRIAGE, ASHCROFT TO CARIBOO. Hon. E. G. PRIOR asked :
1. Has the Postmaster General received any tender from any party or parties to carry the mails from Ashcroft to Cariboo, and other places en route, at a lower rate than that now paid the present contractors?
2. If so, from whom, when, and at what figure?
3. Is the Postmaster General inclined to accept their tender?
4. If not, why not?
