Mr. CLARENCE GILLIS (Cape Breton South):
I wish to direct a question to the acting leader of the government. It arises out of some anxiety in Halifax as to whether the government is in a position to indicate approximately on what date the Halifax by-election might take place.
Right Hon. L. S. ST. LAURENT (Secretary of State for External Affairs): Although I do not like to use this form, I think I shall have to use it on this occasion and say that the intentions of the government in that regard will be made known in due course.
