Hon. J. E. MICHAUD (Minister of Transport) :
The investigations carried out supported the explanations given in committee last year. They showed that all cases treated in the clinic by Doctor Chartier were cases which might properly be treated there, under the Quebec law, and indicated that the payments made for such treatment were made in accordance with the schedule provided under the compensation act. These amounts were checked by treasury officers in the department and by officers of the comptroller-general. There was no reason to conclude that there had been any overpayment, that there was anything wrong with the payments made, that there had been overcharges or malingering either on the part of the employees or the doctor who attended the cases in the clinic.
