Mr. RALPH MAYBANK (Winnipeg South Centre):

Mr. Speaker, I should like to direct
a question to the Minister of National Defence, and in order to do this I should like to

II ousing-Winnipeg
give some information which has been sent to me by way of telegram. I have received a number of telegrams to-day from Winnipeg alleging that serious assaults have been perpetrated upon persons in military district No. 10, at the Fort Osborne barracks. The persons alleged to have been assaulted are said to be conscientious objectors of the sect known as Jehovah's Witnesses. I would ask the minister if he is already informed as to these allegations and whether he can at the moment make any statement with respect to them. If he is not informed, will an investigation be made and a statement given later?
