Mr. S. H. KNOWLES (Winnipeg North Centre):

On Tuesday of this week I asked a question with respect to the government's house conversion plan. I did so on behalf of the Winnipeg city council. The parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Finance (Mr. Abbott) indicated that he would endeavour to make a reply on Thursday. I was telephoned yesterday morning from the Department of Finance and told that in view of the absence of the parliamentary assistant from Ottawa he would not be able to make this reply on that day. However, I had hoped that the reply would be made to-day. Can the Minister of Finance indicate whether an answer is ready? My question was:
Is consideration being given to extending to Winnipeg the benefits of this plan?
