Mr. J. G. DIEFENBAKER (Lake Centre):

I should like to ask the Minister of National Defence for Air a question with regard1 to the announcement that was made yesterday with respect to the closing of1 certain elementary flying schools, service training schools and air observer schools. What was the basis for determining the particular schools to be closed?
Was it on the basis of administrative weaknesses, or non-flying facilities, or of there being too many accidents in the schools? I ask the question because the people in the districts are anxious to know the circumstances connected with the closing of the schools.
