James Angus MacKinnon (Minister of Trade and Commerce)

Liberal

Mr. MacKINNON (Edmonton West):

The government, through the Canadian
shipping board, is giving constant consideration to the problem of supplying steamship space for the carriage of Canadian products including farm products, to the British West Indies. The amount of space allocated to the service is limited by the demand for vessel space for equally or more urgent purposes.
2. A limited steamship service is now in operation and every effort is being made by the Canadian shipping board to supplement this service having regard to other urgent demands for vessel tonnage.
