In the absence of the Minister of Public Works, I beg to answer :
1. The Ottawa Electric Company for the electric current; the gas is supplied by the Ottawa Gas Company.
2. Electric lights : $2.25 per 16 c. p. light for 3.000 lights, and $2 per light for all 16 c. p. lights over 3,000. Gas for lighting purposes, $1.50 per 1,000 feet.
3. 1st February, 1898 ; renewed on same conditions.
4 and 5. Tender was asked from the Ottawa Electric Company. There was no other company from whom tenders could be invited.
