Mr. CRERAR:

I cannot answer that question specifically. Metal mining in Saskatchewan is something that has developed only in the last few years. There is one important development on the north shore of lake Atha-baska at Goldfields, where the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company is about ready to go into operation. Then in the Lac la Ronge district there are some promising prospects of which the geological reports are quite good. Assistance is being given to open a road into that particular area. I am not in position to say just how many jobs have been created in Saskatchewan, the estimate I gave being in reference to the whole country. .
