Mr. WARD:

Mr. Speaker, I would remind you of the consequences of following the policy advocated the other day by the hon. member for St. Paul's. Let our minds go back to the period from 1930 to 1935. It will be recalled that step by step, as the government he supported, the government of that day, increased the tariffs, placed impositions against the importation of goods into this country, unemployment increased.
