I am not here to be cross-examined. If my hon. friend will read the record, he will see the statement of the superintendent to the effect that these companies were requested to come to this parliament to have their charter powers clarified, because there had been conflicting judicial decisions, and because it was impossible to take the matter to the Supreme Court of Canada, the amounts involved being too small.
