Mr. JOHNSTON (Lake Centre):

All cream separator manufacturers in Canada had an opportunity to appear before the committee. They received a questionnaire from the committee; if they did not see their way to return the questionnaire or appear before the committee, they have little to complain of at this time.
However, in regard to this increase in prices of farm implements of November 1 last, applicable to purchases of this year, what do
1238 COMMONS
Farm Implements Committee Report
we find? This list consists of machinery in every-day use, which will be found upon every farm in the country:
The list:
8- foot binder with carrier and tongue truck.
20 d.d. drill.
6-foot mower.
10-foot dump rake.
14-foot single disc harrow C'H.
4-section steel drag harrow.
8i-foot stiff tooth cultivator 6H.
14-inch general purpose gang.
W30 tractor.
12-foot combine.
9- foot 12-24-inch one way disc.
500-pound cream separator.
The percentage of increase on these twelve implements was 7-8 per cent, one of the largest increases that has been made in the history of this country with regard to the prices of farm machinery. This has come since the report of the committee was tabled in this house on April 8 last year; and covers the full range of implements at varying percentages of increase.
