I may say that the demand for tests with tuberculine is largely increasing. The people are gaining confidence from year to year in this test. But I have been obliged to increase the number of officers in consequence of certain action of the American authorities, who, heretofore, have accepted the certificates of our veterinary officers, but have now passed a regulation under which they will only accept certificates of the permanent officers of the department. I am making arrangements by which slightly to increase the number of permanent officers, and expect these officers to take complete charge of all this work, instead of -rjbarging
