The MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE.

That is due to work In North-west Territories. The work formerly was done by the mounted police. But, in consequence of the South African war, veterinary surgeons and others trained to the work have been called away. They have not returned and we have had to engage outside workers, besides making a new arrangement with the mounted police officers, giving them a little more, because the work has increased throughout the Territories.
Quarantine-Compensation for slaughter of hogs and sheep and all other expenses connected therewith, $10,000.
