Mr. JEAN FRANQOIS POULIOT (Temiscouata) :

May I ask a question of the Minister of Finance (Mr. Rhodes)? On April 10 the minister stated that the Canadian government had undertaken to guarantee the repayment to Canadian banks of a loan to Newfoundland. In the report of the dominion commissioner for unemployment relief, dated March 31, 1933, at page 11, a guarantee of $625,000 is mentioned. May I ask the minister first what he meant when he declared that the
government had undertaken to guarantee repayment; and secondly, if anything to that effect appears in the subsequent reports of the director of unemployment relief, and if so at -what page? If not, why?
