Mr. F. G. SANDERSON (South Perth):

Mr. Speaker, I have a question to direct to the Minister of Trade and Commerce (Mr. Hanson). On June 19 last the minister tabled the correspondence with regard to the retirement of Doctor H. M. Tory as president of the national research council. There was one letter which he did not table and if you will permit me, sir, I will quote what the minister said in respect to that:
I should like to say that in a letter to me dated March 7, Doctor Tory made certain representations. This letter was marked "personal," and for that reason it is not included in the file; otherwise it would be produced. I have not been able to get Doctor Tory to release the privilege as he is not in the city.
I would ask the minister if he has yet got the consent of Doctor Tory to release that letter.
