Mr. MacEachen:
Mr. Speaker, in view of the Prime Minister's statement to the House on October 18 that inflation was public enemy number one, would he relate for me that objective with the very heavy burdens that are now placed in this budget on low and middle-income Canadians? Has he now decided to fight public enemy number one on the backs of low and middle-income Canadians, or have those groups become the new public enemy of the government?
