Mr. Speaker:

Order, please. May we have order, please. There is noise coming from both sides of the House. In fairness, I think we should give an opportunity to the hon. member for Leeds to put his motion.

Mr. Cossitt:

Mr. Speaker, I ask permission of the House to move, seconded by the hon. member for Frontenac-Len-nox and Addington (Mr. Alkenbrack):

That the Prime Minister advise the House who gave Dermission for use of the national conference centre for the recent international gathering of Liberals, whether or not the public treasury will be reimbursed for such use by the Liberal Party of Canada and whether or not it is now government policy to allow use of the national conference centre to international political movements at the expense of the taxpayers of Canada.

Mr. Trudeau:

It is a question of privilege, Mr. Speaker. The House might be interested in knowing the answer to this, if it wants me to give the answer.

Mr. Trudeau:

Mr. Speaker, I rise to assuage the worries of the hon. member and to indicate that the Liberal Party of Canada is paying the expenses involved in the use of the centre. If the Tories ever want to do the same, I am sure they will be very welcome.

Mr. Cossitt:

On the same point of order, Mr. Speaker, while I appreciate the Prime Minister clarifying the situation, would it not be in order for the Prime Minister to clarify whether the taxpayers of Canada have been reimbursed for his political flights all over the world on holidays and all over Canada to Liberal Party gatherings?
