Mr. Speaker, we are looking at that very carefully.

Mr. Andrew Brewin (Greenwood):

Mr. Speaker, my question is addressed to the Minister of Transport and is supplementary to the question asked by the hon. member for Ontario. Would the government give consideration to setting up a full public inquiry, such as the one that was held in London, England, I believe, when a new airport there was planned, so that the public can make representations and the inquiry can examine the evidence as to the need for a new airport and the best possible location for it?

Hon. Donald C. Jamieson (Minister of Transport):

Mr. Speaker, I am not at all certain that the forum the hon. member is suggesting would be an appropriate one for achieving the objective he has mentioned. So far as making the material available is concerned, I have already said that that will be done. I might also point out that there will be expropriation proceedings at which all interested parties as well as the public at large can be heard.

Mr. Brewin:

Would the minister consider as an alternative referring this whole matter to the transport committee of this House so that witnesses can be examined and the need made clear and public?

Mr. Jamieson:

Again, Mr. Speaker, I am not sure that that is the appropriate forum but I would be glad to consider it.

Mr. Colin D. Gibson (Hamilton-Wentworth):

Mr. Speaker, I have a supplementary question for the Minister of Transport. Will the minister soon be in a position to inform the House of the details of the proposed regional airport expansion at Mount Hope, Ontario?

Hon. Donald C. Jamieson (Minister of Transport):

Yes, Mr. Speaker. To the best of my knowledge the drafting is already available; I will look into this and pass the information on to the hon. member.

Order. We cannot have further supplemen-taries on this subject. The question period expired three minutes ago. I think we should call Orders of the Day. I understand the hon. member for Gander-Twillingate has a question supplementary to a previous question. A number of hon. members have not had an opportunity to ask their questions and I have tried to make a mental note

of them. I apologize to them for the fact that they were not called upon. In view of the fact they are mostly members in the last row to my left, perhaps we might all work together tomorrow to try to give them priority. Orders of the Day.
