TABLING OF AGREEMENT AND NOTES BETWEEN CANADA AND BULGARIA

Mr. Speaker, I wish to table, in French and in English, copies of an agreement between the government of Canada and the government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria relating to the settlement of financial matters, and copies of exchanges of notes between Canada and Bulgaria dealing with consular matters and with the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries.

Mr. Speaker, last week the Minister of Labour agreed to table at the first opportunity the report of Judge Lippe who acted as mediator in the recent longshoremen's strike. In his unavoidable absence I should like to ask the permission of the house to table that report now in English and in French.

PROVISION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF APPEAL BOARD

Hon. Jean Marchand (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration) moved

that the house go into committee at the next sitting to consider the following resolution, which has been recommended to the house by His Excellency:

That it is expedient to introduce a measure to establish an immigration appeal board and to make provision for appeals thereto in respect of certain matters relating to immigration and to provide for the appointment, remuneration and expenses of the members of the board and the appointment of such officers, clerks and employees as are necessary for the conduct of the work of the board.
