Mr. Speaker, I should like to address a question to the Minister of Agriculture. I hope Your Honour and the minister will recognize the essential difference between this question and the one I asked yesterday, because my question now is specific. I should like to ask 27507-3-2174

Inquiries of the Ministry the minister whether he could advise the house what specific negotiations are now under way to make up for the decline in wheat sales to date and to sell all the rest of our wheat for this crop year.

Hon. Alvin Hamillon (Minister of Agriculture):

Mr. Speaker, I do not think it is the policy of the Canadian wheat board or of the government to divulge what is going on in any type of business negotiations until there is something pretty tangible to announce. I think the point I made yesterday is sufficient, that what we measure our success or failure by are the number of bushels exported. There was a record export in the last two years, and it will be very close to that this year.
