Mr. Colin Cameron (Nanaimo):

Mr. Speaker, I have a question for the Minister of Justice. I have not been able to give him notice of it. Perhaps he can take this as notice. Has his attention been called to the news item in today's Globe and Mail with regard to the transfer of William Semenick from the British Columbia penitentiary? It is alleged here he is being transferred in fear of his life. Can the minister give us some information on that situation?

The hon. member put his question so clearly that he gave us a great deal of information, and I am sure we will all look at the newspaper to which he has referred to find out what is in it.

Right Hon. J. G. Gardiner (Minister of Agriculture):

No, Mr. Speaker. As I indicated to the house the other day, the conference which is being called is being called as a result of discussions which took place at the December conference. It was decided there that the kind of gathering they desired for the purpose in hand was a meeting of the

ministers of agriculture from the different provinces, together with any officials the ministers decided to bring to meet with the department here.
