Mr. Speaker, two bills were passed in the Senate, one to amend the Trust Companies Act and the other to amend the Loan Companies Act. I spoke to representatives of the opposition parties earlier today. If by consent they could be given first reading, they could be distributed and could appear on the order paper for second reading, after which I would hope they could be referred to the banking and commerce committee. They are Bills 307 and 308.
Tomorrow we might have second reading of these two bills
in order to refer them to the banking and commerce committee. Thereafter we shall proceed with Bill No. 302, which we have just been on. Then we shall take the notice of motion dealing with the financing of the Canadian National Railways and advance that one stage. After that, we shall go into committee of supply, taking up the Departments of Citizenship and Immigration, Labour, Public Works and Secretary of State.
