BUSINESS OF THE HOUSE

LIB

Louis Stephen St-Laurent (Prime Minister; President of the Privy Council)

Liberal

Mr. St. Laurent moved

the adjournment of the house.

He said: As determined by a motion adopted earlier today, the business tomorrow will be the consideration of the speech from the throne. I imagine it might suit the convenience of hon. members to learn now whether we are to go beyond the speeches

of the mover and seconder. The usual practice has been to have the mover and seconder speak on Friday and then have the debate adjourned until the following Monday. If it were desired to follow that practice in this instance I think hon. members would be glad to be so advised, so they might make their plans accordingly. If that is agreeable to the leader of the opposition (Mr. Drew) I think hon. members might like to know.
