Mr. Abbott:

There was no amendment at all. My motion in committee of ways and means is:

Resolved, that towards making good the supply granted to His Majesty on account of certain expenses of the public service for the fiscal year ending 31st March, 1949, the following sum be granted out of the consolidated revenue fund of Canada, namely:

The sum of $100,898,573.87 being the amount of each of the items set forth in the further supplementary estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1949, as set forth in the resolution concurred in this day in the committee of supply.

It cannot be any other figure because that is what the committee of supply has voted.

Mr. Abbott:

The bill which I am presenting now has the right figure in it. I put the correct figure in section 2 of the bill. The printed bill contained the original figure shown in the supplementary estimates as they appeared in the committee. The bill now before the committee shows in place of the figure $100,904,073.87 the figure of $100,898,573.37.
