For a copy of all correspondence, letters, and telegrams exchanged between the Minister of Railways and Canals or any other minister of the government, and the premier or any minister of the government of British Columbia or any other person, regarding the matter of the reduction of freight rates on grain or grains used for domestic purposes, since the 1st of December, 1932, up to the present time, and including copy of suggestions as contained in the joint letter of Mr. Stephen, acting vicepresident of the Canadian Pacific Railway, and Air. Fraser, vice-president of the Canadian National Railways, sent to the Hon. Mr. Manion, Minister of Railways and Canals, on the 1st of February, 1933.

whose name this notice of motion stands is not present, but in any event I think the motion belongs to that class which should not be passed by this house. None of the documents referred to are in the custody or possession or under the control of the government of Canada. The Federal District Commission is an independent body transacting its own business using, it is true, money which we provide them with and with respect to which they make an annual report which is tabled in the house and which, under the practice, may be reviewed by the committee on public accounts. I do not think the motion should pass.
