The tenders for this building have been called for, to be received on the 30th of this month. The site has been bought, having a frontage of 60 feet on Main street, by a depth of 100 feet on Wellington street. The object is to provide accommodation for post office and customs purposes, also armoury accommodation for E company of the 30th regiment, Wellington Rifles. The estimated cost of the building is $25,000. The postal revenues last year amounted to $4,924.33, the money orders issued were $20,113, and money orders paid $26,516. The population by the census of 1901 was 2,019.
