PROPOSED FISHERY TREATY.

LIB

Wilfrid Laurier (Prime Minister; President of the Privy Council)

Liberal

Sir WILFRID LAURIER.

On Friday last my hon. friend from North Grey (Mr. Mid-dlebxo) asked me whether the treaty between Great Britain and the United States concerning fisheries in the waters contiguous to Canada and the United States has been put in operation. I have to answer that it has not yet been approved, and the proclamation to put it in force has not yet been issued.

HAGUE TRIBUNAL AWARD.

CON

Robert Laird Borden (Leader of the Official Opposition)

Conservative (1867-1942)

Mr. BORDEN (Halifax).

With respect to the recent negotiations concerning matters dealt with by The Hague Tribunal, there has been a statement in the public press that the Minister of Justice, and perhaps some other member of the cabinet, have come to an arrangement with the government of the United States. Has the right hon. gentleman any announcement to make?
