This is for yard room and track. The yards are altogether too restricted. A portion of this is for land. We have not got the land yet, but it is estimated that $15,000 will be sufficient to buy the land and grade it and put it in shape and $10,000 will put down the tracks.

To provide addition to erecting shop at Moncton, $15,000. .

To provide freight car repair shop at Moncton, $25,000.

In consequence of the visit of the

Duke and Duchess of Cornwall we bought one more, and there is one which was purchased by the traffic superintendent at a very small figure from the Grand Trunk Railway. He paid $4,000.

Is it the intention of the minister to rebuild the engine house at Sussex to replace the one that was burned down a year and a half ago ?

The MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND CANALS.

We have not that in contemplation at the moment. It is not one of the urgent things. I suppose the hon. gentleman refers to a place into which to run the engines, not repair shops ?

The hon. minister knows that what is known as the Sussex train runs between Sussex and St. John, and the engine running it is kept at Sussex. The engine house was burned down and has never been replaced. There is a sort of shed there which is a disgraceful looking structure.

The hon. minister, might at the same time, consider the building of a new station at Sussex. This is one of the most important stations on the line of the Intercolonial Railway and among those yeilding the highest revenue.

I did not state that because the question was not asked. I was asked how many more there were now than in 1896.
